SAM KAUPA TO RUN FOR CHIMBU REGIONAL

PEOPLE'S Party has officially endorsed prominent mining
engineer, Sam Kaupa, to run under its banner for the Chimbu regional seat in the
2022 National General Election.
Party Leader and Governor for Jiwaka Dr William Tongamp announced the endorsement
during a fund raiser at Dynasty Restaurant in Port Moresby last Saturday.
Dr Tongamp said People's Party, in preparation for the National Election, was
happy to endorsed one of the nation’s eminent professionals to represent Simbu
in the next term of Parliament.
"Sam Kaupa brings with him a vast experience in the mining industry
sector that he can contribute effectively in the decision making process if he
is voted in as a legislator,” he said.
"We are pleased Mr Kaupa has chosen to align his policies
with People's Party in this year’s National Election.
"People's Party policies is focused on revitalizing the nation's ailing
economy and we are ready to work together with winning candidates with the
aspirations to bring positive change to PNG.
"We are looking forward to a fair participation in the formation of the
new government after this year's elections."
"The party has also endorsed several women candidates to create a balanced
for equal participation in PNG politics."

People's Party was founded by Governor for Enga Grand Chief Sir Peter Ipatas in 2006. They are a coalition partner in the Pangu led Government with four members of Parliament.
Mr Kaupa has thanked Governor for Enga Sir Peter Ipatas, party leader Dr William Tongamp and the party executives for their trust in him for the endorsement.
"I take this time to thank our Grand Chief Sir Peter Ipatas and Party Leader Dr William Tongamp for their trust in me and choosing me amongst the many to run for the Simbu Provincial seat,” he said.
"Simbu Regional seat this year will be a battle of the equals. Professionals from various specialties will be contesting.
"I stand equal amongst them to compete with the incumbent to provide the leadership that the province lacks.
"The power of choosing comes back to the people every five years to elect their leader of choice," He said
The fund raising was well attended by people from all regions in Papua New Guinea living in Port Moresby.
