CONCENTRATE ON DELIVERY
NATIONAL Planning Minister Renbo Paita has called on all political party leaders in the country to stay out of early campaign until the issue of writs.
Mr Paita has also called on all members of
parliament and reminded them that Parliament was still in session and that they
should all attend to debate on important issues affecting the country.
Mr Paita, who is also the Leader of Government Business, said everyone who is
ready to go on a campaign trail and every other political party leaders and MPs
should wait for the issue of writs in April.
He said this in Parliament last week after Member for Markham Koni Iguan raised
concerns that some leaders have criticized him for not delivering basic
services to the district and going on campaign trails early in their
electorates.
Mr Paita was tasked by Mr Iguan to
seriously consider releasing funds earmarked and allocated for the roads in the
Markham district.
He singled out that the lack of road works
and the funding not being released on time was the reason he was criticized as
part of the criticism came from that incomplete sealed road along the Leron
plains.
Mr Iguan in response assured the people of Markaham that the funding will be
released.
