LUMUSA is as remote as the word gets.
Surrounded by high peaks and cut off from
Enga by the mighty Lai Rver, Lumusa is now part of Western Highlands, although
the locals speak Engalish and are an Engan tribe!
Considering that Enga was once part of
Western Highlands, this is not a coincidence.
But it is the remoteness of Lumusa that
makes it special and unique in WHP, a piece of untouched paradise, whichever
way the mighty Lai flows.
On the road to Lumusa are some delightfully
unique sights, smells, scenery and sounds such as this strange rock, which is
certain to turn heads, after all, it is shaped like a rectangle.
It was unearthed by a recent road
construction team which is rebuilding the Baiyer to Lumusa highway, thanks to
local MP Koi Trappe.
Jutting out of the mountainside, it was too
heavy to be ploughed aside by the dozer and was left where it was found.
Nobody seems to know what it is or how it
came to be where it is now making it a natural wonder and indeed an interesting
rock formation. - words & picture Big Pat
