Torokina one of the most remote constituencies in the Autonomous Region of Bougainville (AROB) got a timely donation of a banana boat and a 60 horse powered engine.

The member for Torokina Fabian Saleu proudly received the donation in Buka in the last days of December 2021.

Proudly donated by Wyndale Investments Limited, which is the main partner to Karatapo Limited and sister resource company West Asiko Limited from the Torokina constituency, in south west Bougainville.

The member for Torokina was very thankful for the gesture portrayed by Wyndale saying it will help with a lot of logistic hurdles.

“I am a member of one of these regions very remote areas where the only access to that area is through banana boat which will run through river channels and waterways right through to lour villages," Saleu said.

“This is a true proof of Private public partnership where the private sector gets involved in partnering with the government to help provide services to our people and I really appreciate and thank Wyndale for their help,” he said.

Wyndale Company rep Lee Naden said they were more than happy to present the boat to the member for Torokina.

“On behalf of Wyndale Investments representing the investor Nick Zukz we have donated this banana boat and the 60 horse powered engine with the underlined purpose as to assist our government in reaching out to our people,” Naden said.

“I am here to present the keys and the life jacket to the honourable member Fabian Saleu as we have also partnered with west Asiko resources owners in the Torokina constituency.” He said.

Torokina was and is still the most remote area on Bougainville apart from the atolls; the presentation of this boat is now the first of its kind from a company to assist the government reach out to its people especially in remote areas.
