SIXTY COVID DEATHS RECORDED TO DATE
SIXTY people have died in East New Britain Province of COVID-19.
The province's cumulative
results at the end of Feb 14 showed Covid 19 cases at 3013, Recovered 2721, 60 deaths and 231 Active Cases.
According to the
ENBs daily situation report compiled by Dr Simberi Jojoga, SMO Disease Control, the number of new cases diagnosed during the last 24 hours was 21, in which
seven were male while 14 were female.
While the report
indicated 14 more number of new symptomatic cases, seven were also asymptomatic
new cases diagnosed in the province.
The current
number of hospitalized cases in the SARI ward was three with the total number
of hospitalised cases to date for the whole province currently at 214, the number for home isolation was well is 228 together with active mild
cases.
While the
compiled report on Monday, February 14, 2022 highlighted only one active moderate
case and two severe cases there were no active critical cases.
To date the
total number of cases admitted to the Intensive Care unit remains at zero, the
number of new cases who are health workers or hospital staffs is five giving
the total number of health workers who are active cases to 37 out of a total
workforce of 1210.
Testing of cases
tested by Ag-RDT in the past 24 hours is at 24 with cases tested to date still
remain at nil together with RT-PCR in the past 24 hours to date with nil
outstanding test results.

While the
province had number of tests tested by GeneXpert in the past 24 hours is 22,
the number of samples collected and sent for genomic sequencing in the last 24
hours remain at zero.
The report
highlighted that while number of samples sent for WGS to date is at 134, number
of results outstanding is 64.
Is has also
revealed that the province have confirmed 45 Varian Delta cases but still has
zero confirmed Variant Omicron cases.
Dr Jojoga
remarks in the report also highlighted that no cough triage report were
received from Rabaul Public Hospital, Rabaul Urban Clinic, Butuwin Urban Clinic
and Paparatava Rural Hospital.

Trend in seven day rolling
average peaked on February 7 and had a slow downward trend ever since.

Fourteen (21) new cases
registered as of Monday 14 February (Case 2993 -3013).
Eight cases from
14 February, five cases from 13 February, one case on 12 February, two cases on
the 11th, three cases on the 8th and two cases on
February 7 2022.

ward:
12/2: male 82 years from Kuraip with mild Covid pneumonia, with CIF pending.
13/2: female 50 years old
from Malemale, unvaccinated with severe Covid pneumonia, polyserositis, anaemia
and chronic kidney disease.
· One admissions to St Mary’s Hospital Vunapope- Medical Surgical Ward
Male 19 years old from Kokopo, unvaccinated with laceration and
asymptomatic Covid.
· Zero Deaths
· 35 cases including 10
health care workers discharged from isolation.
· Positivity rate remains High
